An excellent bagpipe player visited the class and played a few songs.

Music Week!

Music week was a great success in the school. The children had drumming in the hall and got to play a large variety of percussion instruments. They also attended a musical performance workshop and got to dance and sing along to songs from 'Alice in Wonderland'. Miss Coyne did a music composing lessons with the children as well and a bagpipe player visited the class and played some tunes one which was nearly 500 years old!

Two Special Visitors and Our Last Day in Third Class!

We had (two) very special visitors to our class yesterday - our Teacher from the first part of the year - Ms. Black! She brought her new baby in to visit too! We're looking forward to having her back in school next year :)

Today is the last day of school and we're saying goodbye to our classmates and Ms. Keogh for the Summer. Have a great Summer everyone and already looking forward to seeing you in September! :)

Father's Day Art

On Friday we made Father's Day cards. Firstly, we came up with our own special message to include inside the card. The we wrote in our best cursive handwriting - which we've been carefully practicing for months now. Finally, we decorated the front using colourful crepe paper :)

Third Class hit Tayto Park!

We arrive at Tayto Park. We're so excited to start the day.

We saw two tigers - a brother and sister. We had been learning about Tigers at school, so we could tell the tour guide all about them! She was so impressed.

Deer and Kangaroo spotting!

The Llama.

We were so lucky to see a small egg starting the hatch in the incubator. We saw each different stage of the development of the small birds!

Our Tayto Park guide was full of information. She told us all about the animals in the park and their different personalities!

We saw two pumas. They were so close!

Taking in the two Pumas.

We learned all about how crisps are made and had a factory tour. We even pretended we were a spud and went in to the vortex!

Our tour group.

Having a well earned break :)

We had a great day on our tour and were so well behaved.

Sporty 6B!

6B had our Sports Day recently. It was lots of fun and the sun came out to make it a day to remember. Here are some of the photos from the day.
We tried uni-hoc in the hall. It was the first time playing for some of us and we really enjoyed playing the new sport!

We played rounders on the 6th class yard.

The obstacle course was very challenging! Luckily, we had some helpers from 6th class to tell us what to do at each station. Don't forget to bunny hop!

We made sure to cheer on all of our classmates as they tackled the obstacle course.

Shades were a necessary to keep us cool :)

The parachute was so much fun! We played cat and mouse and frog jump!

Some of us found new sports that we really like to play.  Thanks to all the teachers and 6th class students for organising such an enjoyable day. We're looking forward to sports day next year already!
